Yesterday, we talked about gas prices rising since President Donald Trump entered the US into conflict in the Middle East.
According to AAA, prices have already risen significantly since the weekend—as of Friday, the average price for regular gas in Phoenix was $4.38 a gallon. On Monday, it was $4.63. The state’s average is $4.33, up from $3.14 a month ago.
Issues with refineries in California are also contributing to Arizona’s high prices.
Salad And Go is offering a promotion in response to rising costs. By presenting a gas receipt or saying “fuel up” at the window, customers can receive a free quesadilla with any purchase. The deal will run through Friday from 4 p.m. to close each day.
I asked what you all think about gas prices and the Iran war. Here’s what you said.
💬 “I would much rather have gas prices go up (which they are already coming down) than to have been nuclear bombed—but hey … then some people wouldn’t have to worry about gas prices…” — Claire F.
Editor’s note: As noted above, gas prices are continuing to rise. Also, experts have said Iran was further away from developing nuclear weapons than Trump has claimed.
💬 “Given the current gas prices, I am very glad I am permanent work from home for the last 4 years. I use the car for errands but most places I go to are rather close to where I live. I do use my fuel points from Frys to help offset the cost, and thankfully I can top off my tank once a month at the end of the month.” — Cathy L.
💬 “I would rather pay these higher gas prices for going to war against a Theocratic Dictatorship that is the worlds greatest supporter of international terrorism.” — Cliff G.
💬 “I would have preferred consulting our Nato allies first and not lifted the oil sanctions on Russia who we know is a dictator too.. I think that every American who has the power to decide whether we wage war or not should have to send their own kid first. How many sons and daughters do we sacrifice for more minerals, oil and greed?” — Sandra M.
💬 “The gas prices are only temporary.” — Joyce B.
💬 “There is and wasn’t any threat other then someone having to face the music for thru deeds with Epstein. But then there a lot of very gullible folks out there who would rather continue believing the lies being spread rather the take the time to use their brain and find the truth. Hopefully everyone will wake up and realize that our country is being sold on the biggest scam of all the loss of our country!” — Robert J.
💬 “We should NOT be engaging in spurious wars, even against a theocracy like Iran! That’s a big NO, regardless of gas prices.” — Patti N.
💬 “How anyone is happy about an illegal war and higher gas prices is a mystery…” — Rebecca N.
💬 “Trump described the war in Iran as an excursion. I think he meant incursion. He is illiterate. Gas prices and everything else will continue to go up as long as this President is in charge of our welfare.” — Lynne B.
