Aaron Márquez, a veteran of multiple political campaigns and the U.S. Army, grew up in Arizona and has been a committed advocate for progressive change. After two deployments to Afghanistan, he co-founded VetsForward.us, a group of progressive veterans focused on defending democratic values. Márquez has a rich history of public service, from leading veterans outreach for Congressman Ruben Gallego to running for the Arizona State Senate, where his campaign set a fundraising record. After joining the Army Reserve in 2009, Márquez deployed twice to Afghanistan, working on reconstruction and counter-terrorism efforts. In 2020, he was elected to the Phoenix Union High School District Governing Board, where he continues to advocate for progressive policies. Márquez lives in Phoenix with his wife, daughter, and stepson.
