Want to watch collegiate women’s basketball in Arizona in person? Here’s how

Arizona has four Division 1 collegiate women’s basketball teams. You can watch a full season of each for less than the price of a lower-bowl Phoenix Suns ticket.

Tempe, AZ, USA – October 28, 2023: Desert Financial Arena is home to the Arizona State University Sun Devil's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams, as well as hosting concerts and events.

Tickets to Grand Canyon University women’s basketball games are available for as low as $5 each.

Have you been watching basketball on television, but want the chance to watch in person?

Thankfully, Arizona has three professional basketball teams, but these games can be pricey to attend. The Phoenix Suns and Mercury play at Footprint Center in Phoenix, and the Valley Suns play at Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena in Tempe.

Another option is Arizona’s four Division 1 collegiate women’s basketball teams. For less than $200—roughly the price of an average lower-bowl ticket to a Suns game—you can attend the entire season for these college teams.

Arizona State isn’t selling full season tickets, so you’d have to buy tickets to all 10 remaining home games individually. The cheapest ticket is $12 and the most expensive is $22. Their home games are split between Desert Financial Arena and Mullett Arena, both on campus in Tempe.

Check out the Sun Devils’ full schedule here.

The University of Arizona Wildcats season tickets are $79-$142. The Wildcats thankfully offer a full season ticket package, so you can get all your tickets in one purchase. Season tickets were $105-$225 to start the season, so the price is pro-rated.

Grand Canyon University also does not have any season tickets available, but tickets sell for as low as $5 each. You can attend every game at Global Credit Union Arena in Phoenix for less than $80.

Northern Arizona University doesn’t offer season tickets either, but tickets to watch the Lumberjacks women’s basketball team sell for as low as $9 each.

The atmosphere at college basketball games is different from professional leagues, but you’ll often see student sections that are passionate about their schools.

If one of these colleges is your alma mater, it’s exciting to check back in to see how the sports programs are doing. If you didn’t attend any college in Arizona, it’s still exciting to see and support amateur athletes and the local sports community.
