The University of Arizona women’s basketball team started their 53rd season of NCAA women’s basketball and first season as a member of the Big 12.

The Wildcats have made the March Madness tournament for the past four seasons, and head coach Aida Barnes will look to make the postseason tournament for the fifth year in a row during her ninth season coaching the team.

Arizona narrowly lost the 2021 championship game against Stanford by one point, and the Wildcats haven’t made it out of the first two rounds since.

The University of Arizona hasn’t brought a basketball title to Tucson since the men’s team won in 1997. The women’s team will look to bring more glory this season to a school that prides itself on its basketball accolades.
